Adèle Collections

Designer and Distributor of Decorative Coatings and Textiles

Lucien, throughout your career, you have created several businesses related to painting and decorative coatings. How did the idea for Adèle Collections come about?

After many years filled with encounters and projects, I decided to dedicate most of my time to my love for artisanal work, the harmonies of materials and colours, and creating and advising clients passionate about architecture and interior design.

The uniqueness of materials, their one-of-a-kind character and the respect for production workshops enrich every decoration project with a generous and human notion of luxury in the face ofoverwhelming industrial standardisation.

Passionate about natural fibers, woven wood, leather, textiles, and associated ancient craftsmanship, I wanted, through Adèle Collections , to gather and offer unique artisanal materials to designers, architects, decoratorsand all lovers of beautiful stories.

Dominika Roslon, Gabrielle de Cocatrix, what is your background and why did you join this venture?

Dominika Roslon : My experience working on temporary decorations led me to think about how they are made, the uses of materials, their nature, and their source…

I have always been sensitive to artisanal work, colour, shapesand how everything fits together to be part of a tangible whole, but also to the layers of the invisible, to everything that influences our daily lives and our senses. My meeting with Lucien and Adèle Collections initially revolved around a projectand then we naturally had the desire to continue this adventure together.

Gabrielle de Cocatrix : After working in international art galleries, I gradually turned to the world of interior design. That’s how I met Lucien at Meriguet Carrère Paris, a brand of paint and wallpapers for decoration professionals and individuals. We shared the opening and development of this beautiful brand and its Paris showroom for three years.

This experience brought us closer, and when Lucien decided to create Adèle Collections, I always knew that our paths would cross again. So, in 2022, I enthusiastically joined this project that feeds my appreciation for beautiful materials, my taste for harmonious coloursand the richness of human connections.

What drives you through this project?

Quality of life and daily well-being encourage us to rethink the usual notions of aesthetics and creativity in terms of interior decoration. The finishing materials borrowed from nature encourage us to prioritize craftsmanship, organic materials, ancient methods, and know-how for a more qualitative approach and a vision more connected to our surroundings.

Whether they come from France, Europe, Japan, South Americaor the African continent, materials made by artisans are the subject of close collaboration with workshops to harness different expertise for the benefit of coatings and materials suitable for current, timeless and unique decors.

The materials we offer all come from specific crafts  how do you choose them and what is your relationship with the artisans and communities who create them?

The network of artisans that we work with through Adèle Collections is the result of travels and meetings over time. Lucien, who has traveled extensively around the world for projects led by interior designers, has established connections with workshops and communities with whom we now work directly.

We are continually on the lookout for artisans with rare expertise who cultivate a strong connection with nature and use locally available resources. We are part of a social project to support and develop craftsmanship. For us, the projects go beyond surface beauty and are based on the connection between humans, organic materials, respectand exchange.

You source most of the natural coverings and fabrics from Adèle Collections but you also offer designs such as woven wood. Do you have a design office? Is it possible to have custom patterns created?

For our collections, we have created designs that are suitable for modern interior decorationbut we can also study each project on a custom basis. We work directly with workshops and artisans and offer architects, decoratorsand designers the opportunity to create their own designs and adapt colours where possible.

Our experience and expertise also allow us to offer personalised specification services,  using our skills for any research, creation or implementation of specific artisanal materials.

We also provide customised support for creating exceptional natural objects or setting up collaborative projects with artisans and workshops in France, Europe or abroad.

Another of your unique features is collaborating with artisans of art. How do you choose them? What do these collaborations bring to you?

It’s all about the art of meeting people, which is so precious to us. Recently, we expanded our offering by working with French artisan artists: Agnès Kotarba, Hermine Torikian and Amélie Chapleau. We offer to integrate their works into interior architecture in a way that creates a decor around an artwork. Their sensitivity and approach to working with natural materials align with Adèle Collections’ vision.

How do you envision the future development of Adèle Collections?

The development of Adèle Collections will continue with a focus on improving living spaces and well-being through the thoughtful arrangement of our homes, workspaces, relaxation areasand transit spaces.

We will expand our network of artisans in France and around the world to continue offering creative decorative materials to designers. We will strengthen existing collaborations and initiate new ones with designers and architects in France and internationally. We are also considering creating our own collections of objects in collaboration with creatives.
