What is your strory ?

L’Isle-sur-la-Sorgue is a historic city that always has been working with silk and wool. The city benefited from its many natural resources (water, wool, coal, olive oil…). It is in at the heart of this well-suited environment  for the textile industry that in 1808, a duo was born : a father in law (Charles Tiran) and his son-in-law (Laurant Vian). They  installe a mill by the river la Sorgue, so as to make wool and blankets.  In 1886, the wedding of the grand-daughter of the family Vian with Emile Brun completes the current name of the Manufacture : Brun de Vian-Tiran.  A hundred years later, Brun de Vian-Tiran continues its activity, for which 8 generations have been part of to carry this unique manufacture in France.  Today, it is the father-son duo, Pierre et Jean-Louis Brun, who are at the head of Brun de Vian-Tiran. Their heritage is their love for natural material and the passion of their job.  Even though the manufacturer continues to use traditional know-hows, father and son want to be innovative and include this wish in the DNA of the manufacture.

Where do your material come from ?

Brun de Vian-Tiran looks for its materials on the 5 continents and selects the most noble and natural fibers in the world.  This constant quest for the most beautiful fabrics make it a fiber adventurer.  The origin of the latter are infinite. The wools are sometimes exotic, sometimes local, sometimes due to the re-discovery of a species…  They make for entire collections or only a few extra-luxurious blanket for a private edition, thus loyal to the Collection created by Louis Brun in 2005.

How do you value savoir-faire ?

By essence, a manufacture is a place of industrial making in which man intervention remains central. The hand of man is thus present in every step of the making of our products. Each movement requires a long and strict learning process, so that in fine, sometimes after many years, one can acquire the perfect movement. Then, the movement becomes part of the legacy that we give to the next generation.
