How would you describe yourself ?

Both artist and artisan, I work on silk that I paint myself. They are unique pieces, exclusive and non reproductible. To make the silk as easy to work with than paper took me several years of research. I displayed my first collection of finished pieces in une 2017 in Paris.

What makes your collection different ?

The collections that I sign with my name are very pictural. I pay specific attention to how the colors come together. I take the time to appreciate how the ink behaves, how paint comes to life.  I also work on partnerships with fashion designers and to design unique pieces that could be seen as piece of collectables.

Do you have projects that are different that what you are doing now ?

Yes, I mainly create pieces to wear, like painting that we can wrap around around ourselves. By extension, the transparency of the silk has given me the idea to work with the light. Therefore, I started working with a furniture designer on a painted backlit piece.  It is like a big painting that we can light up at night. This work calls for more to come.

I create pieces to wear, like paintings.

Do you have a dream project ?

Of course, we can never have enough dreams. Among the most feasible, I would like to work on a project of woodwork with built-in silk panels, with a lighting system : this would be fabulous.  I would also like to develop new techniques to paint on velvet.

Tell us about your artistic techniques

The Japanese use ancient techniques to paint and illustrate kimonos. With the materials that we have in France, I looked to get as close as I can to the traditional Yuzen technique.  Like a French Yuzen that can allow me to illustrate huge pieces of silk with great liberty, but it reminds that the technique requires a lot of effort.

How did you meet Collection Latil ?

When I met Anne-Sophie, I was working on a difficult project. A friend allowed for us to meet.
