Toyine Sellers discovered weaving following a challenge presented by Peter Marino. Integrating imperfection into her aesthetic, she crafts unique textiles blending natural fibers and fancy threads. Each creation is the result of rare craftsmanship and exacting standards.

I work with a workshop in Jaipur, a city rich in craftsmanship, textile and jewelry creation. Fabric is my primary medium. It allows me to link art and function, and offers an intimate interaction between humans and objects.

The gesture is at the center of my weaving work. It animates the woven surface and gives that recognizable organic and spontaneous vibration in my collections.
